My First Project to be Posted!!!

Well, here it goes... I am uploading my very first project which is going to be entered in K Andrew Designs "Simply Sunday Challenge: Banners and Pennants Awesome Giveaways!!!".  This is a week for firsts for me - creating a blog and entering a paper crafting challenge.  I have always been a "lurker" and have decided to step out and participate more.  Check out K's blog here.  She is awesome.  She is such an awesome Woman of God.  She has made a few posts in the past few weeks that really hit home for me and what I was (and still am) dealing with.  So, with that being said, here is my entry for the Banner/Pennant Challenge.

• I used the new Cricut Imagine Baby Boutique for the Banners and the center frame. The frame is cut in all one piece, I did not break it into layers, but the Monogram is separate.  I just Luhve this cart.
• The letters were cut with Lyrical Letters
• My paper is Bazzill cardstock.

I'm still contemplating playing with my blog template some more when I get some extra time.  I'm just not 100% satisfied with it and think I can create something that goes with what I'm wanting.  Right now, I am hot and heavy on a job search.  I was told the company I am working for is going to end my contract at the end of July instead of the end of the year.  I saw it coming, and have been looking for a while, but now I really need to find something before my contract ends, so I don't have to file for unemployment.  The Austin job market still isn't all that great and there are still more people unemployed than employed.  I'm putting all of my trust and faith in God for this one.  He knows where I need to be and will provide for me and my family.  The uncertainty of not knowing "will I or won't I find a job before July" is somewhat stressful.  I have lived through 2 layoffs in the past 4 years, so I can get through this as well.

This blog "stuff" is somewhat challenging!

Whew! I just spent almost all day trying to figure out the code behind my original template.  Being an old web designer, my skills are somewhat rusty and the original template I picked was not being user friendly!  My blog title just would not fit into the area designated for the title and it was all "skewed".  After several hours of "tweaking code", I finally gave up.  I had found another template from a google search that I liked and was able to manipulate that code much easier.  I didn't want to make a whole lot of changes, just some very minor ones.  So, with that being said, I now have a new template for now, (I may change it yet again so I can have everything that I want!).  This template will get me through a project I am working on, which will be posted in a few days.  I see how this can consume one's time!

Newbie to Blogging!

Well, I finally did it.  I broke down and created my own blog (please bear with me as the site layout is still a work in progress).  I am an avid blog reader for crafters and have learned so much from this very talented group of people.

I still haven't quite figured out how I'm going to utilize this blog.  I know there will be some scrapbooking and card making layouts posted as well as links to other fabulous creations that I find.
